The Sunday evening serenity in Bakweri Town, a neighborhood in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon, was shattered when man suspected of stealing, was burnt to death.

Information reaching MMI has it that they were four persons who attacked a beer depot in Bakweri Town with the aim of extorting money.
Unfortunately for them, an alarm was raised, alerting the population who happened to be taking part in a traditional wrestling ceremony known as “Pala Pala”.
“We had pala pala today in Bakweri town. The population was, therefore, able to act fast, apprehending the thieves,” an inhabitant of Bakweri Town told MMI.
Two of the robbers escaped and two of them were caught by the population who immediately set one ablaze while the other was rescued by the police:
“One was able to cheat death thanks to the intervention of the police, but his friend was not so lucky,” our source added.
According to the latest reports, a good number of boys from the neighborhood for fear of the possibility of a police raid.
