Buea: Military truck knocks down three persons

Three persons have been injured by a maddening military truck in Buea, South West Region.

A source says they were hit at the University of Buea (UB) junction. The military truck, our source says, “… was ascending on high speed has knocked down about 3 persons who were by the side of the road”.

“After the incident, the military truck turned and went back to the direction it was coming from,” our source narrates further.

Persons at the scene have blamed the soldiers for driving at high speed, a practice common among security persons and services in Cameroon.

The damage caused and the conditions of the victims remain unknown at the moment, but eyewitnesses say they fear for them based on the nature of the accident.

It should be recalled that some time back, a military truck riding at top speed crushed a lady to death in Malingo, still in Buea.

To date, no one has been held accountable for the incident.
