The government of Burkina Faso has suspended Radio France International (RFI) from broadcasting in its territory till further notice.

The information is contained in a note released today Saturday December 3, 2022, by the government of Burkina Faso.

“The government has decided to immediately suspend until further notice the broadcasting of Radio France Internationale programs throughout the national territory,” indicated the release.

Burkina Faso is accusing the media house of contributing to a “… desperate maneuver by terrorist groups to dissuade the thousands of Burkinabè mobilized for the defense of the homeland,” the release stated.

“… Rowing against the current actions for a restoration of the integrity of our territory,” it continued.

It should be noted that on March 17, 2022, a communiqué by the Malian government too suspended Radio France International and France 24.
