The dates have been announced for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the tournament will take place between January 13 and February 11, 2024.

The 34th edition of the AFCON will be hosted in Cote d’Ivoire for the second time. Cameroon won the tournament in 1984 when Cote d’Ivoire last hosted it.
The AFCON 2023 qualifiers are nearly finished, and four countries have already confirmed their participation: Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, and African champions Senegal.
These teams will compete alongside the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, for the title of African football champions.
“The final draw of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 Cote d’Ivoire will be held in September 2023. Date and venue will be confirmed in due course,” a statement on CAF’s official website read.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, who are five-time champions, are yet to qualify following their recent loss to Namibia.
The fate of the Lions will be decided when they encounter Burundi in their last qualifying match.
