Camder FC delivered a commanding 7–2 win over Wellingborough Lions Veterans FC on Match Day 7 of the Cameroon Veterans Football League (CVF League), asserting themselves as one of the tournament’s leading teams.

The match served as the return leg of a previous clash in which Camder had narrowly edged Wellingborough 4–2. On Saturday, they made sure there was no doubt about who was in control.

The home side wasted no time asserting pressure. Camder striker Jaha opened the scoring early and doubled his tally within the first 30 minutes, punishing defensive errors from the visitors. Captain Mokom Awa added a third goal in the 38th minute, ensuring a comfortable 3–0 lead at halftime.

Jaha completed his hat-trick with a spectacular goal in the 56th minute. Moments later, Mokom Awa netted his second of the day before substitute Ivan scored Camder’s sixth. The rout was completed when Awa sealed his own hat-trick in the 70th minute.

Wellingborough Lions managed to pull back two late goals in the 73rd and 82nd minutes, but it was too little, too late.

Performance Analysis

Camder’s win was built on intense preparation, team cohesion, and fitness. Their passing, positioning, and execution were superior across the pitch. Even after multiple substitutions, the squad maintained its tactical discipline and pressure.

Wellingborough, in contrast, struggled with cohesion and defensive organisation. Despite coming into the match well-prepared and motivated, they failed to adapt to Camder’s pace and precision.

Referee Syd Atwal visited Camder’s dressing room post-match to commend their performance, specifically praising Jaha and Captain Mokom Awa for their standout roles.

Captain Mokom Awa took the honours with three goals, three assists, and a commanding presence throughout the match. His leadership and impact were crucial in what is now considered one of the most complete performances of the CVF League so far.

Implications for the League

The result boosts Camder’s goal difference significantly and puts them level on points with All Saints Veterans FC at the top of Division 5, increasing anticipation for future clashes as the league table tightens.
