The Cameroon government through the Ministry of Public Works is currently constructing 14 automatic toll gates in the country. The toll gates are being built on major highways and are expected to go operational by the end of 2023.
The toll gates are part of a government plan to improve road infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion. The government hopes that the toll gates will generate revenue that can be used to fund the construction and maintenance of roads and create jobs for many Cameroonians.
“We are confident that the toll gates will be a success. They will help to improve road infrastructure, reduce traffic congestion, and raise revenue for the government.”
The toll gates will be operated by a private company, and they will use electronic toll collection systems. Drivers will be able to pay the tolls using their credit cards or a mobile app.
The government is urging drivers to be patient as the toll gates are being constructed. Drivers have also been reminded that they will need to pay the toll when they go through the toll gates.
What do you make from such an innovation?
