The Upper House of Parliament in Cameroon on Monday, March 27th reinstated Marcel Niat Njifenji as Senate President.
88-year-old Senator Niat has occupied the same position since the country’s senate was created in 2013.
Niat garnered 79 votes out of 82 votes, while three senators abstained from the process.
Earlier today, 146 Cameroonian lawmakers maintained 83-year-old Cavaye Yeguié Djibril as Speaker of the National Assembly.
