Cameroon/Chad: From combating a common enemy to strengthening economic ties

Cameroon is strengthening cooperation ties with the Republic of Chad.

Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute has arrived Maroua in the Far North region today February 26th 2020 where he is to preside over a ceremony tomorrow to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a bridge over river Bongou.

The bridge to be constructed by a French construction company Razel will link Bongou village in Chad and Yagoua in Cameroon.

The construction of the bridge will be financed by the African Development Bank and the European Union.

Cameroon and Chad should be noted have been battling to stamp out the Boko Haram terrorist since 2014 as the insurgents continue to rain terror in villages in the far North region of Cameroon.
