Group trekking has become the new normal in the North West region. Travellers to Boyo, Bui, Ngohketunja and Ndonga Mantung as well as Bali now organise group trekking to access the Divisions after Seperatists’ blockage. The blockage sognisifes another hold up between the Separatists and government forces.

Residents in the Divisions of the North West region say local administration has drifted away from them as they now need to travel to up station, Bamenda to obtain a birth certificate. Most councils they say, have relocated to the area because of insecurity.

A majority of schools bracing up for the new school year in the North West region are mostly private and denominational schools. Most government schools remain shut in the Divisions as the armed conflict rages on.
