Cameroon Renaissance Movement MRC President, Maurice Kamto mourns after “sudden death” of political ally, Christian Penda Ekoka. In an emotional Facebook Post, Kamto expressed regrets over his demise, describing Ekoka as a brother. “I feel saddened and aggrieved by his departure,” declared Kamto.

The family and loved ones of Christian Penda Ekoka have been receiving messages of condolence following the politician’s demise. Ekoko who was a former Biya adviser and also former ally to MRC President, Kamto died in Toronto, Canada on Sunday.


The lawyer of popular Cameroonian crossdresser, Shakiro has pledged legal action against every member of a group of Douala youths who attacked the crossdresser on Saturday evening. Mâitre Alice Nkom reacted on her social media platform after Shakiro was beaten by the angry mob. He was hospitalised at the Ange Raphael Hospital in Douala following the incident. “I donot deserve this…I will have to leave Cameroon after this,” Shakiro declared on his Facebook Page.


Some traditional rulers in the West Region have carried out “spiritual cleansing” on the Dschang Cliff. The move on Saturday seeks to “reduce the rate of accidents” on that stretch of road — which have claimed hundreds of lives according to statistics.


At least three members of Cameroon’s security forces were killed by Boko Haram Terrorists in Sagme, Far North Region on Sunday. It was one of the latest spree of attacks against Cameroonian soldiers by the sect in recent times.


Some women in Wum, North West region today protested against persistent kidnapping for ransom in their locality. The protest comes amid a rise in the phenomenon which is also rampant in other parts of the North West and South West regions.


Draws for AFCON 2020 are expected to hold on August 17 at the Yaoundé Conference Center. The draws will consist of 24 selected African teams which will be paired in 6 groups of 4’s for the tournament — hosted by Cameroon.
