Principals of government schools in the North West and South West regions have intensified calls for their members of staff to signed up for amour car transportation. The armored cars, they say, will be used to transport them to and from work, given the security situation.


Uneasy calm reigns in Bambui as taxi drivers plying the Bamenda-Bambili road say they have been warned by separatists to use the stretch only on weekends. Few taxi drivers violating the warning say they do so to survive. A taxi was set ablaze at the four corners Bambui over the weekend by separatists fighters.


Residents of Nkwen-Bamenda have stepped up security alert in the neighborhood to check persistent kidnappings. Over the weekend, four suspected kiddnapers believed to be Seperatists fighters were caught and handed to security officials by the local population.


At least 38 persons have been arrested by the police for smoking illegal substances in Meme Division. Amongst them was a pastor and a woman.


A nursing mother is said to have disappeared from the Yaoundé Central Hospital, days after giving birth. She is said to have left the hospital for a stroll and did not return.


Two persons are believed to have died in a confrontation between illicit fuel traffickers and Customs officers in Garoua, North Region. The confrontation started after the traffickers tried retrieving seized merchandise from the customs officers, to no avail.


Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has declared all is set at the Olembe Football Stadium to host football games. Cameroon will face Malawi at the stadium on September 3, 2021.
