Aristide Medjo, a Fovu Club of Baham football player has died in Ebolowa, South Region of Cameroon.

He was undergoing treatment, after he was involved in a motorcycle accident, on Thursday June 30, 2022.

According to our sources, the young midfielder was victim, of a traffic accident before the first day of the group stage of the Elite One championship.

He was on a motorcycle that was hit by a vehicle. After first aid, he “was better, before things got worst,” says our source.

“Returning to his parents where he was undergoing indigenous treatment, he finally passed away,” a source told Mimi Mefo Info.

His death again shines a spotlight on the misery and suffering that local footballers in Cameroon go through.

Their precariousness often does not allow them to have access to quality care.

Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) recently announced that, before the start of the next sports season, he would sign an agreement with the National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS).

The funds would benefit players of the Elite One and Two Professional Leagues in the country.

Aristide Medjo has, among others, worn the colors of Racing FC of Bafoussam, Djiko FC and Fovu Club of Baham
