The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will be facing Zambia today July 3 in Morocco for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament (WAFCON).

The match will be played at the Mohamed V stadium in Casablanca, at 6pm Cameroon time.

The WAFCON 2022 kicked off yesterday, July 2 with an opening match between Morroco and Burkina Faso.

The game ended with a 1-0 win for the host nation, thanks to a goal by Ghizlabe Chebback.

Addressing the press, Aboudi Onguene, captain of the Indomitable Lionesses said they are on their top game and will not disappoint.

“We did not come for a walk. We have 7 finals to play. Cameroonians can be reassured that we will give everything” she said.

Meanwhile, Bruce Mwape, Zambian coach indicated that they “… are not afraid of the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.”

“We have played this team in the past and won. This is not the men’s game. We have equal chances here!”

The hopes of Cameroonians are however high, especially with the absence of Zambian attacker, Barba Banda from tonight’s match, due to medical issues.

The tournament which began yesterday is expected to run for a period of three weeks.
