Cameroon: Five children kidnapped by Boko Haram escape after two months captivity

Five children kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect in the Far North region of Cameroon have successfully escaped after about two months of captivity.

According to reports, the five children were kidnapped last December on the island of Darak, a locality in the Far North region.

They were recently able to escape from the Boko Haram captivity after which they ended up in Baltram, a village in neighbouring Chad.

Residents of the Far North region of Cameroon have constantly been victims of attacks and kidnappings from the Boko Haram terrorist movement who later demand huge ransom for the release of their victims.
