Days back, the Cameroon government said it was relieving some measures placed to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Among them was the shutdown of schools.
In the days ahead, higher institutions of learning and end of course examination candidates will resume classes.
Schools and faculties at the University of Bamenda (UBa) have since been planning on taking off with academic work. One of these is the Higher Teachers Training College (HTTC). Its students have been partitioned in groups of 20.
Once school resumes, students will undergo 11 days intensive teaching and then be evaluated. Ahead of the resumption of classes, some higher institutions of learning like the University of Buea have been making use of online portals to proceed with the learning process.
Despite this, many say it is yet to become effective due to the challenges posed by the newness of the technology involved. Cameroon’s COVID-19 cases yesterday surpassed 2,200.
