Cameroon: Man escapes death after attempting to steal from a gendarmerie.

A man whose name MMI got as Essomba Jean Yves is currently in detention at the kondengui Central Prison, after he broke into the Meyo Gendarmerie Station to steal a motorcycle.

MMI learned that Jean Yves harshed his plans for weeks, before putting it in motion on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023.

After successfully climbing the fence of the gendarmerie post at night with the help of a spring clamp, Yves got into the station and immediately went for the bike.

“With the help of surveillance cameras present at the station, the burglar was immediately caught as he attempted to take the bike away. He was shot in the leg by one of the gendarmes on duty,” sources reported.

Yves was taken to the Kondengui Central Prison, where he is awaiting trial.
