The governing Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, has toppled the opposition Social Democratic Front Party, SDF from it’s stronghold-the Northwest Region.
The one time leading opposition party lost to the CPDM in the March 12 senatorial elections.
The CPDM list trampled over that of the SDF by a landslide win in all the seven divisions making up the North West Region where a bloody separatist conflict has been ongoing for over six years.
The CPDM is retaining all the seven elected senatorial seats in the region for the second time after it did so in 2013 before being booted out by the SDF in 2018.
