Cameroon: Soldiers Print ‘La République’ On Houses, Warn Owners Against Wiping Them

Many households around Street One Mulang, a neighborhood in the restive Bamenda Municipality have seen “La Republic Du Cameroon, LRC” written on their walls by the Cameroon military.

The inhabitants of that area say those whose houses were affected have been warned by the soldiers never to wipe them off.

They say this was after separatist fighters painted the colors of the ‘Ambazonia flag’ on that tar at Street 1 in Mulang.

“They say they will arrest all those who will go against their warnings never to wipe off the LRC on their walls,” an eye witness told our correspondents in Bamenda.

All attempts to get those affected did not yield any fruits as no one was willing to talk for fear of reprisal attacks.

Last week, the population of Ntamulung and other quarters in Bamenda lashed out at separatist fighters for endangering their lives.

This was after the fighters had printed the sky blue and white colors that resemble the Ambazonia flag and ADF written on the tar around their homes.

They complained that the fighters have ignored the fact, the Cameroon military is good at punishing civilians when even the fighters do things that don’t go down well with them.
