Cameroonian Woman, Sylvie Jacqueline Ndongmo has been voted President of the Women International League for Peace and Freedom,WILPF.
She was elected during the 33rd International Congress of the global body held Virtually.
The meeting took place in Australia from 16 to 24 July 2022.
“Mrs NDONGMO has succeeded in gaining the respect and trust of her WILPF mothers and sisters at international level” a statement from WILPF said
” From now on, she will continue with the international office of WILPF, the actions in favour of women, peace, protection of human rights, active non-violence, disarmament and conflict
prevention throughout the world”, the statement added.
Sylvie Jacqueline Ndongmo has a rich experience in the fields of mediation,human rights, prevention and response to gender-based violence.
At the African Union MMI gathered , she is a member of the Steering Committee of the African Women’s Fund and has participated in several African Union peace and electoral missions.
