Cameroonians have expressed mixed feelings after a certain Dr. Nzobeuh popped up on social media, claiming a daily Cameroon delicacy is toxic.
On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, on his Facebook account, Polain Nzobeuh Biologist Thérapeute confirmed his declaration.
He wrote: “The bean porridge is extremely toxic to the health of humans, plants, animals, and the environment… This dish is a disaster for humanity.”
Pap, puff puff, and beans is a meal consumed by the majority Cameroonians on a daily basis.
Many even have it for their breakfast daily.
Some seem unhappy after Doctor Polain Nzobeuh claimed the meal is toxic.
According to a user, the food might be toxic to the whites but not to Africans considering that they have been consuming it with no side effects.
“It’s toxic to the white man, not us. It’s because of this food some of us are still alive,” said a social media user.
Another user, condemning the revelation, indicated that the declaration by the Doctor is not constructive.
He said: “Every poison has an antidote. What is the antidote for BHB? Be constructive when you make a declaration. Show us your statistics. Make your declaration more credible.”
Meanwhile, other users believe that the declaration, to an extent, might be valid.
It is the case for this user who indicated,” That is a whole researcher. You ate it and you are still alive, it’s thanks to God for keeping and protecting you. It doesn’t mean the food is safe.”
Other users rather took out time to question the profession of the said Doctor.
“What has a therapist got to do with nutrition? A Therapist is a person who treats psychological problems; a psychotherapist. While a Nutritionist is a person who helps people form healthy eating habits to improve health and prevent disease,” Questioned another user.
The revelation has caused a stir on various social media platforms as most Cameroon say they are not ready to digest such revelations.
