Micro, Small and medium size enterprises (MSME) affected by the Covid-19 pandemic have recieved support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Cameroon’s aspiring and ready-made entrepreneurs are no strangers to challenges such as the lack of finances and resources to run their businesses.
The arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic however, worsened situations for most Cameroonian MSMEs.
It is in this line that 136 CEO’s of such Entreprises were selected to receive support and training from the UNDP.
Dr Euphrasie Kouame, representative of the UNDP expatiated on the main objective of the program: “This program has as main objective to reinforce the capacity and resilience of the MSME(Micro, Small and Medium size Enterprises) which has been affected by the Covid-19.” she added
“At the end of the program, our objective is to reinforce their technical capacity as well as their financial capacity.”
It is reported that of the over 300 MSME’s who postulated, just 136 met the criteria required.
“The criteria that has been used to select our participants are firstly that the MSME should be managed by a Cameroonian, from 18 to 35, and for women up to 55. The enterprise should also show a capacity for job creation.” Dr Euphrasie indicated.
The initiative was highly applauded and appreciated by the various beneficiaries of this Program launched by the UNDP.
