Brenda Biya, daughter of Cameroon’s long-serving leader, Paul Biya is no stranger to controversy. Over the years, she has been known for regular outbursts, giving the world insight into the tight-knit family.
After a long time away from intense public scrutiny, Brenda has once more gone into a fit of rage, this time, calling out her parents over her upbringing, likening it to the treatment given Anglophones.
She took to the social media platform, Snapchat to call them out, stating that she no longer regards the President and wife as her parents.
“If you can treat me like you treat any ordinary Cameroonian and Anglophone people, I don’t care. No amount of money, nothing will ever buy me,” she wrote.
“A parent-child relationship,” she went on, “should not be a dictator-submissive one… These white doctors managed to separate us and I ain’t got no parents no more.”
Throughout her upbringing, the presidential couple, Brenda stated, was always absent from her life.
“From the go, they’ve been absent, never raised, never gave me love like an actual child. Everything is fine as long as you are in their power grasp. All they care about is their image,” her words read.
Brenda in her outburst did not spare her siblings too: “… I know what love looks like and it is not my own siblings and parents conspiring against me,.”
Brenda’s latest outburst comes shortly after her father. 88-year-old Biya, marked 39 years as President.
Like with Brenda’s other outbursts, however, the presidential couple has maintained sealed lips – the same way they’ve ruled the country for decades now.
