Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya pays tribute to Pelé

The President of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya has paid tribute to Pelé, the Brazilian Former Football legend who died this Thursday, December 29th, 2022.

“I pay my respect and tribute to Brazilian football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé,” Biya write on twitter.

Pele who died aged 82 had cancer removed from his colon last year, MMI has learned.

During his 21-year career, Pele won 37 titles and scored 1,279 goals – an all-time record. He is the only player to have won the World Cup three times, doing so on the way to becoming a national and global icon who transcended the sport.
