City mayor wants Kumba district hospital upgraded to regional hospital Annex

Kumba city mayor , Grégory Mewanu has requested that the Kumba District Hospital to be upgraded into a Regional Hospital annex.

He was speaking during a visit to the construction site of the Kumba District Hospital’s Administrative Block. The visit took place May 29, 2022.

During the visit, the politician expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction works which are carried out thanks to the South West Regional Assembly.

This according to him will tackle the problem of lack of space in the hospital.

He however used the outing to solicite the transformation of the facility from a district hospital to a regional hospital, considering the geo-strategic position of Kumba.

“Lebialem, Manyu, Kupe Muanenguba, and Ndian divisions, added to the people of Meme, because Kumba is actually there to serve, so as to answer the cry of these four divisions, we need a major regional hospital Annex” indicated Gregory Mewuna.

He has as well noted that the upgrading of the Kumba District Hospital would bring to a limelight various departments of specialists, thereby improving the health care quality of the hospital.
