The Vice President of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, CRM, Mamadou Mota was accompanied yesterday by the President of the Party, Maurice Kamto and a host of other party dignitaries back to his home town of Maroua.

This was after having spent close to two years in at the Yaoundé Kondengui Prison in Yaounde.

It was a tearful ceremony at the residence of the CRM party vice president as his wife and children felt deep relief in finally getting reunited with the Mota following months of psychological torment and fear for his life.

The party President, Maurice Kamto was equally full of joy and excitement as he reunited both parties, mentioning that he had finally fulfilled his promise of securing the release of his Vice President.

The delegation that accompanied Mamadou Mota was equally led to the Lamido of Maroua’s Palace where they received blessings from the Muslim community and from the Lamido.

Mamadou Mota was arrested and detained in 2019 by the Biya regime on charges of organizing an unauthorized March to proclaim the victory of the CRM president Maurice Kamto during the 2018 Presidential Elections.
