Antoinette Kongso, ex-lover to separatist fighter, ‘No Pity’ will again appear in court tomorrow. Her case that wasmeant to be heard today, was adjourned to tomorrow. The lawyers of the nursing mother have continued their quest to get her released on bail. She was arrested sometime ago while pregnant and later gave birth in detention. It still remains unclear what her crime is.


Cameroonian journalist and author, Arrey Bate is among 100 youths selected for this year’s edition of the Oxford University 2021 Global Leadership Challenge. Among other duties, the selected youth leaders will work to co-create an action project to contribute to United Nations Development Goals.


Residents of Azire and Mbengwi Road quarters in Bamenda are having sleepless night. Soldiers this evening stormed the neighbourhoods and set several houses ablaze, leaving the occupants stranded. Many have fled for their lives. This has been a constant phenomenon of the ongoing conflict, with citizens constantly suffering at the hands of the military that is meant to protect them.


Three persons have died in Yaoundé today, after being crushed by a bike around the Biteng filling station. Amongst them was a father and his son, together with the bike rider. One other person is receiving treatment after sustaining serious injuries.

Two kidnappers were arrested today by elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, (BIR) in the Far North Region of Cameroon. Two captives were also freed from their captivity, and some weapons recovered.

Cameroonian-born Lazare Eloundou Assomo has become the first African to be named at the helm of the UNESCO World Heritage. The 53-year-old was appointed on December 6 by Audrey Azoulay, the Director General of UNESCO.

The traditional leaders of the Sawa people in the Littoral Region have backed Samuel Eto’o Fils ahead of the upcoming FECAFOOT elections. They believe Eto’o is the only candidate capable of changing the face of Cameroon Football.
