The Senior Divisional Officer for Menchum, Abdoullahi Aliou has threatened to sanction teachers that fail to show up at their assigned duty posts. The administrator has asked his subordinates, D.Os to supervise the implementation of the decision. Some parts of Menchum like other divisions in the Anglophone regions continue to witness chaos caused by the ongoing battle between government and separatist fighters.

Fok Kevin Yakum, President of the North West House of Chiefs has spent 43 days in separatist fighters’ captivity already. He was abducted by the fighters who till date continue to hold him. Many have expressed indignation at the fact that till date, no official statement has been made about the abduction of the traditional authority by government or any state institutions.

Cesar Ngomo Honoré, supporter of the ruling Cameroon Peoples Democratic Party has been issued a summons to appear before the police on January 24. The accusation, the Ayah Foundation says, is unfounded, and tarnishes their image.
