Deja vu?:
Ugandan Olympic Athlete ‘disapears’ in Japan

One of the athletes who was earmarked to represent Uganda during the upcoming Olympic Games, #Tokyo2020 has reportedly disapeared from the hotel where he was lodged.

According to corroborating sources, Julius Ssekitolek, a weight lifter ran away from the hotel in Izumisano, near Osaka in western Japan where he was staying with his compatriots on Thursday night.

Though he had come to Japan with his Ugandan compatriots, revelations say he had somehow lost all hopes of participating in the competition and was to be sent back to Uganda soonest.

He was among the first group of nine Ugandans, coaches and executives who arrived in Japan in mid-June, and two non-athletic members, some of whom tested positive for coronavirus soon after covid tests were carried out on them.
