Hon Cavayé says planned diaspora protest against Biya are hateful, irreverent & tribalistic

The speaker of Cameroon’s House of Assembly, Honorable Cavayé Yegue Djibril has bashed the call for protest from the Cameroonian diaspora against President Paul Biya.

With the calls gathering steam as the president is out in one of his numerous private trips to famous intercontinental Hotel in Geneva, the speaker published a communiqué in which he has accused instigators of the protest as being hateful, irreverent and tribalistic in their protest calls.

Speaker Cavayé in this press release criticised the move by a group which he refered to as a minority, to undermine an institution like the Head of State Democratically elected by Cameroonians to lead the nation.

“The National Assembly decries and regrets such recurrent defiance against the Institutions of he Republic and the person who embodies them, His Excellency Paul Biya, who moreover was elected by vast majority of Cameroonians on 7 October, 2018” he stated.

In the release equally, Hon Cavayé pointed out to the so called “Minority” that they are wrong to think that it is their International opinions and interest that counts more to than the national opinion.

To this he concluded by calling on “Responsible Cameroonians in the diaspora to stay alert, united and to continue trusting in the Republic.
