A lady has accused staff of the Dubai Bonaberi hotel in Douala of assaulting and abusing her.

Marie says the hotel’s manager, General Manager and Security Guards on Thursday Last week carried out the act at the structure’s parking lot.

The incident, she says started when she was accused of stealing money from a Divisional Officer who visited the hotel’s Snack Bar.

Marie says she asked the men to review the security footage at the said time to ascertain the fact that she never took any money but they refused.

Despite professing her innocence, Marie says the men went ahead to torture her after folding her hands so she could not move.

Due to this, she says, “… I dislocated my left shoulder.”

“Moments after, I passed out when I woke up, water was coming out from my ears, my nostrils and my mouth. My body was trembling and I wanted to scream” she disclosed.

She adds that her assailants however restricted her once more.

She says “All these happened at the parking lot far from the sight of the clients … and he was squeezing my mouth so that I didn’t scream.”

Marie says after the incident she visited a hospital in Bonassama for checkup where she was given some injections for her pain and a drug prescription.

“I was in the hospital on Friday … they have not made a medical certificate yet and I need it to make a complaint… Currently I am in bed…” She tells us.

Marie says she has also spent 20,000 FCFA (close to 40US Dollars) so far, and will spend more for her treatment as need arises.

Mimi Mefo Info however got to the Manager of the said Snack Bar who had a completely different version of the story.

The lady he says came to the snack and was seated next to a DO who visited their snack bar.

“The DO had an envelope of money … She saw that money and I don’t know how she did it but she removed 20,000 FCFA from the DO’s pocket.”

“… They were quarrelling and that is when I called the security to send them out. As she went out she started harassing all the security guys” the manager added.

Expressing his willingness to play what the security tapes captured that fateful evening, the Snack Bar manager says Marie’s aggression even led to the fall of a fellow colleague who too is still receiving medical attention.

Because of this, “… I asked the security guys to carry her out of the hotel because customers will be disturbed.

“Nobody beat her up. She was fighting with customers but we didn’t beat her up … She knows what she’s doing” the manager insists, adding that security forces who came to the scene urged him to collect the ‘stolen’ money found on her but he declined.

Despite the current situation, none of both parties has taken any legal action yet.
