The Lord Mayor of Douala, Roger Mbassa Ndine has fired an employee after accusing him of falsifying a building permit.
Jean De Paulengue Noah, assistant study manager number 3 in charge of the admissibility of the files of town planning certificates and the archives at the Douala City Council was sacked yesterday August 3.
“Mr. Mengue is specifically accused of having received from Mr. Adjevi Djecka, a real estate developer in Douala, the sum of 50,000 CFA with in return the issuance of an apocryphal permit,” states a source.
According to our source, both parties are currently under investigation. The sanction recalls the many risky constructions that litter the economic capital of Cameroon. Some of which have collapsed in recent weeks.
During a press conference yesterday Thursday at the City Council, the Mayor announced zero tolerance against irregular acts in the issuance of building permits in the city.
