Douala: Japoma stadium workers on strike over 3 months unpaid salary

Workers of the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Littoral Region of Cameroon are said to be on strike for over three months of unpaid salaries.

According to ActuCameroon, “It turns out that a personnel placement company whose identity has not been revealed is at the origin of the discontent. He was in charge of finishing the swimming pools and gates.”

In this light, work has been suspended for two weeks already, since there have so far been no guarantees of the next payment.

The workers are equally demanding the reinstatement of their colleagues who, according to them, were “wrongfully” dismissed.

The Japoma Stadium, it should be noted, hosted a good number of matches during the 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
