A young man whose name we got as Tonye was reportedly stabbed to death while attempting to escape from the notorious ‘Les Microbes’ gang in the city of Douala.
The incident occurred Thursday December 29, 2022 in the Bonamoussadi neighborhood.
According to sources, five armed men with machetes and knives patrolled the area snatching wallets and cell phones from passersby.
The action is said to have triggered tension causing individuals to flee to several directions.
On getting the information, Tonye otherwise known as Choubee tried escaping from a drinking spot before he was brutally stabbed in his neck.
He died on his way to the hospital.
The Governor of the Littoral, Samuel Ivaha Diboua and the police boss of the region were at scene of the tragedy.
An investigation has been launched to bring to book perpetrators of the act.
