Residents of Mboppi, a neighbourhood in Douala, Littoral region of Cameroon have expressed fears over a storey building constructed in the neighbourhood.
The storey building, residents believe is a death trap after close observation since it was erected.
According to locals, the building was poorly constructed as it is noticed to be shaky.
Their lives are in danger as they fear the building might collapse any time soon.
“This six floor storey building is located at Mboppi opposite CCA bank behind petit Mboppi market,” a resident told MMI stating that, “since this building was constructed no one lives there because a problem from day one.”
“As days pass by, the building keep bending on one site,” he added.
Inhabitants have reportedly raised concerns about it but nothing is being done by authorities.
Expressing fears over their lives he said “This building is a time bomb that can collapse any time.”
The building is now sustained by robes increasing fears of imminent collapse of something is not done in time.
“Coming back home yesterday I discovered that they are now using ropes to hold the building as you can see,” he went on.
