Douala: Woman commits suicide after being accused of cannibalism

A woman in the Bonamoussadi neighborhood, in Douala Littoral Region, has decided to put a term to her life after being accused of cannibalism.

On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, the woman, not being able to bear the shame gotten from the accusations of those in her neighborhood, decided to consume rat poison.

The lady who was a teacher, was accused of torturing her nephews and nieces living under her roof.

According to neighbors, she was known for the repeated beatings she administered to these children. They also alleged that she used to bite their necks, arms, chests, backs, and shoulders.

Informed of the sad news of her death, her students remained inconsolable, since they considered her, they say, as a mother.
