East Region: Abong Mbang Market Goes Up In Flames

The Abong Mbang main market in Cameroon’s East Region has been partially burnt to the ground by a fire today morning.

Several traders of the market say they have recorded considerable material loss as a result of the early morning fire.

Some shop owners have expressed their shock at the unfortunate event, and say it may take them a considerable amount of time to get their businesses back up.

As of now, the exact cause of the fire at the market is still unknown. However, investigations have been initiated to establish the facts.

All efforts to limit the damage by the population was largely unsuccessful.
