Eight men believed to be a part of the microbes gang have been arrested by elements of the Gendarmerie in Yaounde, chief town of the Center Region of Cameroon.
They were arrested in possession of seven motorcycles, bundles of drugs, laptops, knives, machetes, and others.
Talking to the press, one of the microbes members disclosed the motive behind such acts. He explained: “We attack people with these dangerous objects because at times we don’t have what to eat… I am from Mali and I am on an adventure, trying to survive.”
The Gendarmerie however assured citizens of Yaounde that they are ready to put in every effort to guarantee their safety in town.
“We, under our general have promised to put in our best to put a term to this phenomenon,” said Lt Colonel Mvogo Abanda.
The Eight microbes have been placed under custody, while investigations are ongoing to identify the remaining members of the group.
