The European Union has offered the sum of 4 billion, 225 million FCFA to Cameroon, to fight against famine in English-speaking regions.
According to Wanja Kaaria, World Food Programme Representative and Country Director in Cameroon, “Partners like the EU are vital to our efforts to address the food needs of the most vulnerable food insecure people affected by conflict, climate change and rising costs.”
The donation carried out through the EU’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Department (ECHO) was in a bid to strengthen WFP response to the emergency food needs in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.
