Angry youths stormed the Customs office of Mokolo, Mayo Tsanaga Division of Cameroon’s Far North region, vandalizing the building before setting it ablaze. A duty pickup vehicle belonging to the officers was also vandalized.
The incident happened Wednesday, November 25, 2020, following an earlier disagreement between the officers and the youths.
The officers failed to agree with the youths on the wholesale of goods that have been confiscated by the customs department.
The youths then got enraged, and when the officers fled for their lives, they vandalized the customs office, setting it on fire alongside a customs pickup vehicle, sources say.
