Far North:
Six killed in fresh Boko Haram attack in Far North

At least six persons have been killed following an attack carried out by Boko Haram militants in the village of Tourou, Mayo Tsanaga division of the Far North Region.

The six persons were killed at the start of last week.

The Boko Haram fighters reportedly stormes the village heavily armed again wreaking havoc in the process.

The bruised population had previously expressed its dissatisfaction before the services of the Governor of the Far North region a month ago.

They had however reassured the populations of a new security system.

But finally, no promise was kept by authorities.

“We are treated like sheep. The authorities turn a deaf ear. Every day we register deaths and moreover we are abandoned with our corpses. None of these authorities asks the question of how we buried our dead. All our belongings are destroyed. We are forced to sleep again on the mountain with the return of the rains and the snakes with our exposed children” said SILAS, president of the vigilante committee of Tourou.

Most citizens will therefore be obliged to spend their nights on the mountain in order to escape the members of
the Boko Haram sect.

“The authorities should urgently give us something to eat. Otherwise we will starve because our sorghum, our millet, everything has been burned and taken away by the jihadists” Said a mother in her forties.
