Fate of Anglophone Crisis: CDN Boss Steps Down As Co-Chair, Vows To Fight Underground

The Founder of The Coalition for Dialogue and Negotiations CDN, Denis Foretia has said he is stepping down from the CDN leadership as Co-Chair.

This was in a release on December 19, 2021. In the document, he said he is faced with personal challenges believed to have made him less competent for the position.

While noting that the main aim of creating the CDN two years ago was to form a formidable Southern Cameroons representative alliance to persue internationally mediated dialogue, Denis Foretia said the goal remains strong, even after he steps down.

He regrets his inability to continue leadership to realizing a just end to the Separatist Conflict in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, but however feels partly fulfilled to have brought some stakeholders to a consensus.

The CDN Co-chair called for unconditional support of stakeholders to the new leadership of Ms Judith Nwana, thanking them for the support shown since creation.

He also mentioned that while off official duty, he will not relent efforts in opening international eyes on the devastating humanitarian crisis in Southern Cameroons.

Anglophones especially the innocent, have suffered the brunt of the war. The inception of the CDN ushered temporal relief to Southern Cameroonians who hope the Coalition will unite the separatist ringleaders, and put them on the same platform with government.
