The first information technology (IT) school in Cameroon opened in the country’s main cities, including Buea.
It is called the Algorithmics International Academy.
Given that education from kindergarten through college has been limited to reading, writing, and reproduction, this improvement bodes well for the future of science and technology in a country or continent where such has been a fiction.
Algorithmics International Academy, Cameroon’s first information technology (IT) school for children, dispels this notion.
The organisation has its roots in Buea, SW Cameroon, but it has ambitions to expand throughout the country.
All three locations (Buea, Yaoundé, and Douala) are now fully functional.
The IT school takes a novel approach by combining rigorous coursework in areas such as computer science, information systems, software engineering, and business administration with exciting co-curricular offerings.
Because they want students to be able to go to regular school, they designed their curriculum for after-school programs.
Algorithmics MMI understands your child’s busy schedule and works around it without any fuss. The children’s regular school schedules will not be disrupted by their once-weekly after-school program.
The magic of gamified instructional techniques, available both online and offline, will make learning seem fun for your child.
For young people between the ages of 6 and 18, a new door has opened.
In addition to teaching students how to code, Algorithmics aims to help them become productive members of society by encouraging them to think critically, creatively, and independently.
