Foumbot: 12 kids admitted in hospital as 10-year-old pupil attempts poisoning teacher

12 children and their teacher were rushed to the hospital yesterday September 28, for medical attention after a pupil attempted poisoning the latter.

The incident took place at the CEBEC primary school in Foumbot, West Region of Cameroon.

According to reports, the 10-year-old pupil was commissioned by his teacher to purchase some sweets. The pupil however inserted some poisonous substance before handing it over to his teacher.

After consuming the said sweets with twelve other pupils in her class, the teacher, including the pupils began feeling unwell. They were immediately rushed to the Foumbot district hospital for medical attention.

“Our teacher usually sent him to buy sweets but this time around he put some poison in the milk that was under sweets before bringing it,” narrated a pupil, who happened to be a victim too, adding that it was “because the teacher always beats him”.

The 10-year-old pupil was apprehended by the forces of law and order, while the teacher in question is currently battling between life and death at the Foumbot district hospital.
