A 22-year-old lady has been arrested and detained by Gendarmes in Foumbot, West Region.
Fatimatou, the detained lady, is accused of dumping her new born-baby inside a toilet in the Baigom neighborhood.
Questioned about the act, the Fatimatou told the Gendarmes that the baby fell into the toilet as she went to ease herself.
The baby, who is said to have spent 24 hours in the toilet, was rescued and rushed to the hospital by locals who heard it crying from the toilet.
