Four arrested in Youpwe, Douala for robbery

Four young men have been arrested in Youpwe, Douala, in the Littoral Region, by elements of the Youpwe Gendarmerie Brigade.

They were caught on the night of August 25, 2022, at about 8:45 p.m.

According to the National Gendarmerie, “… after they were informed of the presence of suspicious individuals at a place called Hotel Marina 2000, in Youpwe, a neighborhood of Douala, elements of the Youpwe Gendarmerie Brigade raided the area.”

Among the four was a, “… national from a neighboring country who, according to information gathered, was majoring in motorbike theft and all sorts of robberies,” added the National Gendarmerie.

They were found in
possession of 2 motorbikes, a dagger and 17 wraps of Indian hemp, which were all seized immediately.

Investigation, however, is going on in this unit, in a bid to find the other arms and accomplices.
