Thierry Marchand has been appointed by France as new ambassador to Cameroon.
This appointment follows a decree by the President of the French Republic, published Thursday, September 15, 2022.
According to the decree, “Thierry Marchand, General of the Army Corps, is appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Cameroon.”
Thierry Marchand
carried out operations in several African countries such as the Central African Republic and Djibouti. A graduate of the Special Military School of Saint-Cyr in 1987, he held several strategic positions within the French military apparatus.
General of the Army Corps, Thierry Marchand succeeds Christophe Guilhou, who according to the presidential decree has been called to other functions.
The latter has been tasked to contribute to strengthening relations between France and Cameroon.
