Free Paul Chouta for you own inner peace – MRC scribe

The assistant head of Cameroon Renaissance Movement, CRM opposition party, Mamadou Mota has weighed in on the arrest and detention of pressman, Paul Chouta on charges of defamation of character.

Mota made the remarks Saturday, March 27, 2021.

“When a writer lies, plagiarizing is nothing more than a simple exercise that she considers legal,” Mamadou Mota stated.

The detention of Paul Chouta, he added, does not play negatively on the pressman alone, but also on those responsible for his arrest and detention.

“Free Paul Chouta for your own inner peace. This is also elegance,” he stated.

Paul was arrested years back and has spent over a year in pre-trial detention, as his release seems to be nowhere in sight.

His arrest, detention, and prolonged trial have been described by many as another clampdown on the press in Cameroon.
