A young man who transports fuel from the borders of Nigeria and Cameroon has narrowly escaped death following an accident at the Ntafoang Square in Bali Nyonga, Thursday, April 26.
His car is said to have somersaulted with the tires facing up. With the fuel in plastic containers spilling out on the road and around the vehicle, the risk of ignition was feared by those who witnessed the incident.
It took the timely intervention of the population who stormed the scene and succeeded to pull the driver out.
In a video shot by a witness to the incident, the rescue operation by members of the public was captured, culminating in the driver being taken to safety.
He sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident has not been established.
