A man has been apprehended by elements of the Garoua III Gendarmerie in the North Region of Cameroon for taking part in the kidnap of his three-year-old relative.
The child was kidnapped on the night of January 6, breaking January 7, 2023.
According to reports, the 3-year-old was snatched from his uncle’s residence and taken to the bush by the three thugs, among whom was a member of the his family.
Informed, the gendarmerie immediately launched an operation to find the little boy and his abductors.
After identifying the location of the thugs, the Gendarme elements succeeded to kill the kidnappers following intense gunfire exchange.
The young boy was later rescued with his relative arrested and put behind bars.
One of the kidnappers is said to be on the run.
