Armand Okol, veteran journalist and Field Coordinator of Eleven Million Citizens led by Cabral Libii, has been released after gendarmerie officials arrested him this morning.

Armand Okol was at the Head Office of Cabral Libii in Bayiga Centre, Yaounde where preparations were being finalised for the Presidential Candidate of UNIVERS to evaluate party’s performance at the just ended presidential election in Cameroon.

Armand Okol has said he was whisked to an unknown destination, where he was held for over 20 minutes but later released under intimidation.
He says he was accused of inciting civil disobedience.
“In the face of of tyranny, be resistant and courageous… The struggle continues…,” Armand Okol said in a statement.

Cabral Libii’s head office in Nkoldongo has been under military surveillance since early Wednesday, after he announced a press conference to evaluate the just ended election which saw the reelection of Paul Biya by 71.28 percent.
